A Quiet old power that cannot be destroyed

Good Morning,

A wild spring storm blew through on Sunday, taking down two electric poles. We've been without power for 2 days up here in the hinter lands, and I have to say, I love it. I love that my 75 year old neighbor invited us to get water at his house (he has a generator), and I love that my son and I went there last night and just sat and talked with he and his wife for 45 minutes after we'd loaded the water, him doing most of the work because that what is in him, years of farming and construction clear in the way his body moves; fingers thickened by years of use, hands that cannot be faked.

I love that for the last two nights we have made dinner and eaten by candlelight, and that the immense night spread out beyond the windows of the house could seep in a bit more, and the dark of the sky soothed the dark of our cells in ways electricity will never understand.

I love that last night when I walked around the kitchen with bare feet my body automatically aligned into better posture, and my spine leaned back a bit over my hips, centering me in the dark, then walking upstairs to bed the cut glass candle base threw a rainbow of jeweled sparks over the walls and floor, magic that is hidden most days.

There is a dropping into place and local community that is facilitated by the loss of power, and an old power emerges, one that we know in our bones, one that has evolved with our nervous systems over eons.

I didn't mean this description as a build up to Friday Night Silent Meditation and Prayer, but it fits here.  There is a sweet old power that can come forth when people gather in presence and sit together in a quiet place of beauty, lite by candles and stars. It is easy to underestimate the power of presence in community, but I for one think that it is the answer to most of our suffering.

It is not only a joy to sit together, it builds something, something we need now. It builds wisdom and a capacity for inner regulation, and when we share afterwards it builds the ability to communicate as centered and caring adults. Real adults.

Group meditation and prayer is part of the solution. It's something you can do that will benefit yourself, your family, your friends, and the world. It's something that cannot be taken away by an outside authority.

Come sit with your fellow humans and I at Place of Peace for an evening this Spring Equinox and let's open our ears and hearts and listen to what can be heard on this hill high in the Odessa wilds.

There is a power greater than the individual when we gather and sit in presence and shared intention together. Do not underestimate our ability be a mystical conduit of real peace and healing for ourselves and the world.

It is needed, the call is great, and we can do this together.

The biggest embrace you’ll ever make is the full, absolute, and complete embrace of your humanity, exactly as it is.  ~ADYASHANTI
